Hi, I'm Michelle. I'm currently a third year Environmental Design student with plans of going into a Masters of Architecture . I began casually riding at the age of 6, but did not start seriously riding until I was 11. Despite never getting my own pony for Christmas (my fingers are still crossed), I have been lucky enough to ride many wonderful horses over the years. I have mostly shown hunter/jumpers but have recently started eventing. Along with my love for all things horses, I enjoy photography, books, really old buildings (CASTLES!) and caesar salad. Some of my life goals include: ride a polo pony, travel around the world to look at architecture, and own more Hunter boots than I logically should. |
Vice President - External
Chloë Roberts
Hi everyone! My name is Chloë and I am a animal biology major working towards hopefully one day going to vet school. As you might have guessed, I have a passion for all animals (except snakes and cockroaches, they creep me out) and horseback riding is definitely a part of this! I have been riding since I was 8 years old and in that time I have done dressage, hunter, jumper and a little bit of western riding and vaulting just for fun! I will do anything horse related! I have ridden many, many different horses and love the challenge of figuring out a new horse. As well as animals and horseback riding, I absolutely love spending time outdoors, travelling, and eating good food. I especially love sweet foods and I will always say yes to dessert! |

Vice President - Internal
Julie Kruglenko

Hello! My name is Julie. I am a third year student here at UBC majoring in Psychology. I love horses and aspire to work with them in the future. My dream job is to use equine therapy (therapeutic horseback riding) to help children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. I am fairly new to the horse community but LOVE everything about it! In order to get more involved in this incredible community I joined the UBC Equestrian club and advanced to become an executive member. I am the Vice President—Internal of the club, which means I organize all the fun events and activities our club does! I am thrilled to be a part of this group and cannot wait for all the fun memories we will share. |
Treasurer & Secretary
Ana Pozas
My name is Ana Pozas, I am from Mexico and I have been riding for around 8 years English style in my previous homes: Brussels, Paris, and now Vancouver. I am in the Faculty of Science at UBC, and hope to major in Biology due to my interest in animals, especially horses. I love being part of the UBC equestrian club because it allows me to form part of a special community, and together we look forward to luring more club members, as we grow and develop as a club and as a special UBC community. |

Hi! I'm Rachel, a second year Land and Food Systems studying Applied Animal Biology. I've loved animals in general for as long as I could talk and horses for even longer. After years of begging, my parents finally signed me up for riding lessons when I was 8 and I haven't stopped since. I've never owned my own horse (although that is only a matter of time) but I have had many opportunities with different horses over the years and I still haven't given up on my Grand Prix Dressage dreams. Other than horses, I am a keen photographer and a major choco-holic. This is my second year being part of UBC Equestrian and it’s been a blast so far! |
Show Team Captain
Natalie Nahirney
Hi! I’m Nat, a third year Integrated Science student studying Immunology and Neuroscience. I’ve just written the MCAT, and am looking forward to applying to medical school soon! I’ve been competing on the hunter jumper circuit since I was an 8-year-old doing the pony jumpers. Before I came to UBC, I was competitively showing in the junior equitations and training with Thunderbird Show Stables. I’ve spent all my life in the equestrian industry, as both a rider and groom, but without my own horse I now do a lot of catch riding! The UBC Equestrian Team has given me a chance to ride and show while at school, in addition to fantastic road trips and travelling with friends. With one IHSA Nationals under our belt, I can’t wait to lead the team this year in our first season as a Thunderbird Sports Club! |

Hi! I’m Claire, a third year Computer Science and Microbiology student here at UBC. I started riding when I was little, and I’ve loved horses ever since! I currently compete mainly in the jumper ring with my horse Eddie, but I’ve shown in the equitation and the hunters in the past. Since moving up to Vancouver from my home in California, the UBC Equestrian Team has given me the awesome opportunity of continuing to show and ride horses with a group of amazing team mates. I’m super excited to start off our first year as a Thunderbird Sports Club as the Finance Lead and Travel and Safety Advisor, as well as the coach at shows! When I’m not programming or riding horses, I’m also on the UBC cycling team, and I love riding my road and my mountain bike in the beautiful areas around Vancouver. |

Hello! I'm Kristen, a third year film studies student here at UBC. I'm both a western and an English rider, and have ridden many different horses and ponies thus far in my equestrian career. After serving as treasurer last year, I wanted to stay involved with UBC Equestrian despite heading off to New Zealand for Go Global! I'm excited for all our upcoming plans and am excited to see the club grow. I love all things film, television and theater. I'm also an avid traveler and am usually planning my next big trip, which for now is to the land down under. Despite being as busy as I am, there is always room for horses in my life. As well as cheese, always room for cheese! |
